NEWS FROM OUR ASU SCHOOL OF MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS
JENNIFER ANAYA
One of our original scholarship students, Jenny Anaya, is preparing to graduate from the ASU School of Music in December 2003. Jennifer started with the WCO seven years ago as a cello student. She seized the opportunity and began to make music the focus of her life, graduating from Wickenburg High School and auditioning for the ASU Herberger School of Music as a voice major. She was accepted and recently performed her senior recital which several WCO Board members attended. Jennifer sang a major role in a production of “A Chorus Line” at the Herberger Theater and is headed for Broadway after graduation.
ROBERT SPRINGER
Pianist Robert Springer, a graduate of Wickenburg High School has just been awarded a third year scholarship from the WCO to pursue his study of composition at the ASU School of Music.
Robert is maintaining a high grade-point average. He recently sent us a CD of his new work entitled “Compositions” featuring works for voice and piano, brass, and string quartet.
Robert has chosen one of the most difficult yet essential careers in the world, that of creating music for generations to come.
Let us remind you that a contribution can change a child’s life.
